The Lady Chevrons claimed victory in a dramatic Super Over after the match ended in a tie during regular play.
After posting a total of 112 for 5 in their allotted 20 overs, Zimbabwe watched as South Africa matched their score, reaching 112 for 7, thus forcing the game into a Super Over.
Zimbabwe exhibited remarkable determination during the Super Over, scoring 4 runs in six balls while limiting South Africa to just 2 runs, securing victory with 2 wickets in hand.
Kellis Ndlovu, Zimbabwe’s versatile all-rounder, once again stood out as she was named player of the match for her contribution of 28 runs and 2 wickets.
This gold medal marks the second triumph for Team Zimbabwe in the tournament, adding to their collection of five medals, which includes one silver and two bronze medals earned by the swimming team.
