Zimbabwe Set to Host India for T20 International Series in July

Zimbabwe Cricket (ZC) and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) have jointly announced an upcoming five-match Twenty20 International (T20I) series to be held in Zimbabwe in July.

Set to unfold from July 6 to July 14, 2024, in Harare, this series marks a significant step in enhancing the bilateral relations between the two cricketing boards, following constructive deliberations between ZC and the BCCI.

Tavengwa Mukuhlani, the Chairman of ZC, expressed his excitement about the upcoming series, highlighting its importance as a major international event for Zimbabwe cricket this year. He conveyed gratitude to the BCCI for their commitment to touring Zimbabwe once again, acknowledging India’s profound influence and dedication to the sport.

Emphasizing the significance of this tour, Mukuhlani underlined Zimbabwe’s efforts to reclaim its position as a formidable force in cricket at the global level.

Jay Shah, the Honorary Secretary of the BCCI, echoed the sentiment of support and collaboration, recognizing the rebuilding phase of Zimbabwe Cricket and affirming the BCCI’s commitment to assisting fellow member boards. He emphasized the BCCI’s role in fostering positive changes within the cricketing community and expressed the intention to strengthen bilateral cricket ties while ensuring commercial viability.

Shah’s remarks highlighted the shared vision between the BCCI and Zimbabwe Cricket for the growth and prosperity of cricket globally, affirming the BCCI’s dedication to supporting Zimbabwe’s cricketing journey.
