Red Bull has initiated an investigation following allegations of inappropriate behavior leveled against Christian Horner, the team principal of the company’s Formula 1 team.
Christian Horner, 50, has served as Red Bull’s team principal since their inaugural Formula 1 season in 2005. Over his 19-year tenure, he has guided the Milton Keynes-based squad to seven drivers’ titles and six constructors’ triumphs.
The investigation, spearheaded by an external specialist barrister, was confirmed by the F1 team’s Austrian parent company on Monday.
Horner has adamantly denied the allegations, stating, “I deny these allegations entirely.”
In a statement, Red Bull remarked, “Following the emergence of recent allegations, the company has launched an independent investigation.”
“The investigation, currently underway, is being conducted by an external specialist barrister. The company views these matters with utmost seriousness, and the investigation will be concluded expeditiously. Further comment will be withheld until the investigation concludes.”
Horner is expected to continue in his roles as team principal and chief executive of Red Bull Racing throughout the investigation.
The unveiling of Red Bull’s 2024 car, which Max Verstappen will pilot in defense of his world title, is scheduled for February 15th.
