The celebrated Afro-Jazz artist from Zimbabwe, Bob Nyabinde, has passed away at the age of 68. Fondly referred to as “Headmaster,” Nyabinde had been grappling with diabetes for an extended period.
A post on his official Facebook page announced the sad news, stating, “The great songwriter has fallen. Go Well Jazz legend. Sing with the angels” The announcement was made on Saturday evening, marking the end of an era in the music world.
In October of this year, Nyabinde reportedly suffered a collapse, resulting in a hip injury that led to his hospitalization. Unfortunately, his health deteriorated, and his condition became critical in the following weeks. The loss of Bob Nyabinde leaves behind a void in the Afro-Jazz community, and his musical contributions will be remembered by fans and fellow musicians alike.
