For the second consecutive match day, the Warriors will play a World Cup qualifier outside Zimbabwe’s borders.
The senior men’s national team is set to face Lesotho in a Group C encounter at the Orlando Stadium on June 7. This decision comes as there are still no stadiums in Zimbabwe certified to host international matches.
Despite assurances from Sports Minister Kirsty Coventry last year that the National Sports Stadium would undergo renovations in time for the qualifiers, the facility remains unusable due to inadequate standards.
This predicament has forced the Lincon Mutasa-led Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) Normalization Committee to explore alternative venues abroad, similar to the situation during the match against Nigeria last year.
Following the match against Lesotho, Zimbabwe will travel to Free State to play against South Africa on June 11th.
