The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has officially announced a tragic road traffic accident that resulted in the loss of fifteen (15) lives along the Harare-Masvingo Road on Friday afternoon.
According to a statement shared on its official social media platform, the ZRP reported that a kombi (sprinter) heading towards Masvingo collided head-on with a truck traveling towards Harare, resulting in the devastating accident. The statement reads as follows:
1/2 The ZRP confirms a fatal road traffic accident which occurred this afternoon at around 1600 hours at the 53 kilometre peg along Harare-Masvingo Road in which 15 people were killed after a Sprinter kombi travelling towards Masvingo was involved in a head on collision
